Overview
- At SKICC Srinagar on August 5, 158 of the 250 beneficiaries received appointment letters in person, with the remaining 92 to be delivered at district headquarters in the coming days.
- Beneficiaries come from north, central and south Kashmir districts whose relatives were killed by terrorist groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
- Earlier phases of the program awarded 40 appointments in Baramulla on July 13 and 80 in Jammu on July 28 as part of a phased outreach.
- A centralized relief portal and district- and division-level helplines launched in late July have already registered grievances from over 1,200 families seeking FIR re-registration, property restitution and other redress.
- The initiative forms part of a wider counter-terror strategy aimed at dismantling overground support networks, enforcing accountability and restoring dignity through sustainable livelihoods.
