J&K-Led Raids Seize 360 Kg Explosive Precursor and Weapons in Faridabad as Doctors Held

Police attribute the recovery to interrogation leads from an arrested Kashmiri doctor, with the material now undergoing forensic tests.

Overview

  • Faridabad’s police chief said roughly 360 kg of what is likely ammonium nitrate was recovered and clarified it was not RDX and the seized long gun was an assault rifle, not an AK‑47.
  • The operation flowed from the arrest of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather over JeM posters in Srinagar, after which an AK‑47 and ammunition were earlier found in his locker at GMC Anantnag.
  • Another medic identified in reports as Dr Muzammil/Mujahil Shakil, linked to a rented premise in Dhauj near Al‑Falah, was detained in the probe and brought into J&K custody.
  • Investigators also seized a pistol, dozens of cartridges, timers, remotes, chemical solutions, wiring and other items police say are consistent with IED components.
  • Cases under the Arms Act and UAPA have been registered as the IB assists the inquiry, forensic analysis is in progress and officials indicate further arrests and recoveries are likely.
