J&K L-G Announces Regularisation of SMVDU Non-Teaching Staff at Foundation Day

The move ends five-year contracts for lower-level employees to improve job security.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered the inaugural address at SMVDU's 22nd Foundation Day via video conference.
He said all eligible lower middle level and below non-teaching staff on continuously renewed five-year terms will be regularised and the contract system removed.
Sinha framed the decision as promoting fairness, talent retention and institutional stability.
He praised SMVDU's rise into the country's top 100 universities and highlighted growth in programs including Design Your Own Degree, B.Tech Robotics, artificial intelligence and MSc Data Science.
He paid homage to victims of the recent Kishtwar and Kathua calamities, noting relief efforts are underway after his discussions with the Prime Minister and Home Minister.
