  • In Ramban’s Rajgarh a cloudburst and flash floods killed at least three people with four missing, while in Riasi’s Mahore seven bodies were recovered after landslides as searches and relief operations continued.
  • Over the past month Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh recorded roughly 25 cloudbursts and nine landslides with about 122 fatalities and around 100 people missing, and the IMD warned of more heavy rain and possible landslides into early September.
  • After a summit in Tokyo, India and Japan condemned the April 22 Pahalgam attack, noted TRF’s claim of responsibility, and urged swift action against the perpetrators, organisers, financiers and safe havens, including UN-listed groups.
