Overview

  • Effective immediately, departments have been told to prioritize compliance, with violations liable to disciplinary action.
  • Public messaging apps such as WhatsApp and unsecured tools including iLovePDF are barred for processing, sharing or storing official material.
  • All departments are to adopt GovDrive, which provides each official 50 GB of secure storage with centralized access and device synchronization.
  • USB use is restricted to rare cases, capped at two to three devices per department, requiring SIO approval and NIC reconfiguration with ownership registration.
  • Sensitive technical information, including ICT diagrams and vulnerability assessments, must be classified as confidential and moved only through approved secure channels, a step underscored by recent cyberattacks on J&K systems.
