Jiutepec Raid Nets Modified Drone, Suspected Explosives and Military-Grade Weapons

The court-ordered search followed a Cuernavaca shooting traced by C5 surveillance to a white GMC Terrain.

Overview

  • An interagency team from SSPC Morelos, Marina, Sedena, the National Guard and the state prosecutor executed the cateo on August 28 at 11:00 a.m. in Lomas del Texcal, Jiutepec.
  • Authorities secured a modified cargo drone, two packages of suspected explosives, detonating cord, long and short firearms and large quantities of ammunition.
  • Bomb squad personnel from the 24th Military Zone safeguarded the explosive materials to prevent any risk at the scene.
  • Investigators seized radios, a surveillance DVR, official documents, a laptop, a threatening message and six caps bearing the name “Comando Tijera.”
  • The residence and a white GMC Terrain were turned over to the Ministerio Público as ministerial inquiries pursue arrest warrants and work to identify occupants presumed to be from Guerrero.
