Jitendra Singh Inaugurates Kendriya Vidyalaya in Ramkot, Urges STEM Scholarship Uptake

  • The newly sanctioned Kendriya Vidyalaya at Ramkot, Kathua, opened for the 2025–26 session with 200 students enrolled in classes 1 to 5.
  • The school is operating from temporary premises at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Ramkot, as classes begin.
  • Singh promoted DST schemes including INSPIRE-MANAK (₹10,000 for selected students), INSPIRE Scholarship (SHE) (₹60,000 a year with a ₹20,000 mentorship grant), and Vigyan Jyoti for girls in classes XI–XII.
  • He credited the Modi government and NEP 2020 for expanding access to quality education in remote areas of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • During the visit, he viewed a student art exhibition on central schemes, and NCC and Bharat Scouts and Guides volunteers presented a guard of honour.
