Overview

• On July 16 in New Delhi, a delegation of 2014-batch Assistant Section Officers met with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh to discuss pending promotions and service concerns.
• Singh gave a patient hearing to officers’ grievances and directed ministries to expedite the resolution of long-pending promotions.
• The officers noted that backlog clearance for reserved vacancies, particularly for OBC and other communities, has improved equity and morale over the past decade.
• Singh highlighted reforms that have made the Central Staffing Scheme more transparent, merit-based and performance-driven while offering officers exposure to key governance roles.
• He urged officers to leverage the iGOT Karmayogi portal under Mission Karmayogi for upskilling and to prepare for future governance challenges.
