Overview
- JioStar announced Monday that six regional editions of Bigg Boss — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla — will premiere at the same time from September 2026 on the JioStar television network and JioHotstar.
- The company confirmed a star host line-up for each edition, naming Salman Khan for Hindi, Vijay Sethupathi for Tamil, Akkineni Nagarjuna for Telugu, Kichcha Sudeepa for Kannada, Mohanlal for Malayalam and Sourav Ganguly for the Bangla edition.
- To mark the rollout JioStar published a coffee-table book titled 'India’s Bigg Reality' that presents the franchise’s two-decade history alongside the company’s 2025 audience and commercial data.
- JioStar’s 2025 figures, cited in the announcement and book, say Bigg Boss reached more than 500 million viewers, logged over 438 billion viewing minutes, generated over 9.32 billion votes and drove heavy social and live-chat engagement.
- JioStar frames the simultaneous launch as a commercial strategy to give advertisers sustained, nation‑wide reach during peak festive months by combining local-language editions with continuous digital feeds and branded integrations.
