JioHotstar Launches as India’s Largest Streaming Platform Following Reliance-Disney Merger

The new platform combines JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar, offering 300,000 hours of content, live sports, and tiered subscription plans starting at ₹149.

JioHotstar, launched by JioStar, merges JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar, creating a platform with over 50 crore users and 300,000 hours of entertainment and sports content.
Subscription plans include a basic ₹149 tier for mobile devices and a premium ₹1,499 annual plan offering ad-free 4K streaming on up to four devices.
The platform integrates domestic and international content, including titles from Disney, HBO, NBCUniversal, and Paramount, alongside Indian originals and regional programming in 19 languages.
JioHotstar will host major sports events such as IPL, ICC tournaments, and Premier League soccer, featuring advanced features like multi-angle viewing and AI-driven insights.
Existing JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar subscribers will transition to JioHotstar, with premium users receiving equivalent access for the remainder of their plans.
