Jio Payments Bank Wins Two MLFF Tolling Contracts on Gurugram–Jaipur Corridor
The IHMCL pilot awards place the bank among the early winners in India’s shift to barrier-free highway tolling.
Overview
- Jio Payments Bank secured contracts to implement FASTag ANPR-based multi-lane free flow systems at the Shahjahanpur and Manoharpura toll plazas between Gurugram and Jaipur.
- The awards come under Indian Highways Management Company Ltd’s pilot, with JPBL accounting for two of the five MLFF bids granted so far.
- The deployments will use a mix of RFID-enabled FASTag, automatic number plate recognition, dedicated short-range communication, and GNSS to enable contactless, multi-lane tolling without stopping.
- JPBL already manages toll processing at 11 plazas as an acquirer bank, and Jio Financial Services says the unit is exploring synergies with Jio Platforms to bolster digital infrastructure.
- NHAI plans to extend MLFF to about 25 national highways in FY26, and recent rules raise fees for cash and UPI toll payments to push faster digital adoption.
