Overview

• The company brought a 250 MT Basic Oxygen Furnace online at its integrated Angul plant, with the first heat successfully tapped.
• The new converter adds 3 MTPA of crude steelmaking capacity, taking Angul from 6 MTPA to 9 MTPA.
• Operations are synchronised with Blast Furnace 2 to boost throughput into downstream mills and support supply to infrastructure, energy, automotive, oil and gas, and real estate sectors.
• Jindal Steel says the milestone moves Angul closer to its goal of reaching 12 MTPA within the current financial year.
