Jim Henson Company Sets First Public Auction of Archival Puppets, Props, and Art

  • Julien’s Auctions will host the 70th anniversary sale with online bidding opening October 22 and a live event November 25 at the Hollywood headquarters and online.
  • The offering marks the first time the Jim Henson Company is selling authenticated items from its archives to the public.
  • More than 400 lots are slated, including over 80 handmade puppets, props, costumes, set pieces, and memorabilia from The Muppets, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, Labyrinth, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
  • Highlighted items include the Naia Drenchen Gelfling full-body puppet from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, estimated at $15,000–$25,000, along with screen-used weapons and set pieces from the series.
  • Nine original artworks by the late Caroll Spinney are included, and a hardcover auction catalog is available for preorder for $100.
