Jharkhand Police Report Nine-Month Crackdown With 266 Maoists Held, 32 Killed

  • From January to September, police recorded 266 Maoist arrests, 32 fatalities in encounters and 30 surrenders, including two central committee members carrying ₹1 crore bounties.
  • Operations recovered 157 firearms, including 58 looted from security forces, along with 11,950 cartridges, 18,884 detonators, 394.5 kg of explosives and 228 IEDs, while 37 bunkers were destroyed and ₹39.53 lakh in levy was seized.
  • An August–September cyber push produced 128 FIRs and 105 arrests, seizures of 128 mobile phones, 166 SIM cards and other banking materials, with ₹7.42 crore frozen, ₹37.28 lakh returned to victims and 4,281 complaints logged via the national portal and helpline 1930.
  • Police cited arrests of senior cadres with bounties, naming Ravindra Ganjhu, Ranvijay Mahato, Kundan Kherwar and Krishna Yadav among those taken into custody.
  • Authorities also reported organized-crime actions including the extradition of Sunil Kumar alias Mayank Singh from Azerbaijan and district drug and contraband seizures, while August–September operations executed 12,651 warrants with 4,186 arrests and 413 vehicles seized.
