Overview

  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art will present highlights spanning 5,000 years of art while MoMA and Yoko Ono collaborate on a PEACE-inspired installation, Lincoln Center will install a 140-foot performing-arts mural and the American Museum of Natural History will feature imagery of its T. rex, Rapa Nui figure and other iconic specimens.
  • Terminal 6 is a $4.2 billion privately financed component of the Port Authority’s nearly $20 billion JFK Vision Plan, with construction under way since 2023 and a phased opening of six gates and its art program in 2026 followed by four more gates by 2028.
  • The broader art program will include 19 permanent site-specific works curated by the Public Art Fund alongside rotating exhibitions by Queens artists selected by the Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning.
  • Passengers will gain access to ten gates (nine widebody-capable), a state-of-the-art automated baggage system, upgraded TSA screening technology, expanded curbside areas and multiple airline lounges.
  • JFK Millennium Partners is building and will operate the terminal, with carriers such as JetBlue, Lufthansa, ANA, Avianca, Cathay Pacific and SWISS slated to use its facilities.
