The groups criticized Musk for reposting antisemitic and xenophobic content and reducing content moderation since acquiring X in 2022.
The announcement came shortly after Musk gave a Nazi-style salute at a Trump inauguration event and addressed a far-right German political rally, downplaying Germany's Holocaust-related guilt.
Organizations such as the Union for Reform Judaism and the Central Conference of American Rabbis signed a joint statement condemning X's promotion of hate and conspiracy theories.
Some groups will maintain dormant accounts on X to prevent misuse of their handles but will focus their social media efforts elsewhere.
