Jewelry Store Robbery in London Alleged to Be Staged Insurance Scam

Court hears testimony from defendant claiming £1.4 million heist was orchestrated with consent from all involved, including the late store manager.

Junior Kunu, one of the accused, testified that the May 2024 robbery at 247 Kettles in Richmond was a staged event meant to appear real for insurance purposes.
The alleged heist involved the theft of over 70 luxury watches valued at approximately £1.4 million, none of which have been recovered.
Kunu claimed he was promised £5,000 to participate, believing everyone, including store manager Oliver White, had consented to the plan.
Oliver White, the store manager, died by suicide the day after the robbery, with his family stating he was devastated by the incident.
Two other suspects allegedly involved in planning the event have fled abroad, while the trial of Kunu and co-defendant Mannix Pedro continues.
