Jetstar Brings International Flights Back to Avalon With Bali Service From March 23

New terminal investment with a dedicated Lara Station bus link will support the return.

Overview

  • Jetstar will operate five weekly return flights between Avalon and Denpasar starting March 23, marking the airport’s first international service since flights were halted in March 2020.
  • The airline will restart Avalon–Adelaide services and increase AvalonBrisbane frequency to expand domestic options.
  • Avalon Airport will invest at least $31 million in upgrades to handle the growth, with the Victorian government providing what the airport describes as a very small contribution.
  • A new Route 18 bus will connect Lara railway station to Avalon seven days a week, with service expected to begin in the coming months.
  • Officials expect the expansion to add up to 320,000 low-fare seats a year, including about 120,000 on the Bali route, and the airport estimates 80 to 100 additional jobs.
