Overview

  • Tyrod Taylor underwent minor knee surgery on Aug. 14 and will miss the remainder of the preseason with hopes of returning by Week 1.
  • The Jets conducted workouts the same day with veteran quarterbacks C.J. Beathard and Nathan Peterman as short-term insurance.
  • Neither veteran was signed, keeping Justin Fields as QB1 and leaving Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook as the only listed backups.
  • Brady Cook briefly left joint practice with an ankle injury but has been cleared and is expected to play against the Giants on Saturday.
  • New York will continue to monitor Taylor’s rehab progress and evaluate its QB depth ahead of its Week 1 home opener on Sept. 7.
