Jets Begin GM Search with Thomas Dimitroff Interview

Former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff is the first known candidate interviewed to replace Joe Douglas, as the Jets also seek a new head coach.

The New York Jets interviewed former Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff on Monday for their vacant general manager position.
Dimitroff, who served as Falcons GM from 2008 to 2020, helped build a Super Bowl-contending team and earned two NFL Executive of the Year awards.
The Jets fired former GM Joe Douglas on November 19 after a tenure marked by a 30-64 record and no playoff appearances.
The team is also searching for a new head coach after dismissing Robert Saleh in October and appointing Jeff Ulbrich as interim coach.
Owner Woody Johnson has enlisted consulting group The 33rd Team to assist in identifying and vetting candidates for both the GM and head coach positions.
