Jets Begin GM Search with Thomas Dimitroff Interview

Former Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff is the first known candidate interviewed to replace Joe Douglas, as the Jets also seek a new head coach.

  • The New York Jets interviewed former Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff on Monday for their vacant general manager position.
  • Dimitroff, who served as Falcons GM from 2008 to 2020, helped build a Super Bowl-contending team and earned two NFL Executive of the Year awards.
  • The Jets fired former GM Joe Douglas on November 19 after a tenure marked by a 30-64 record and no playoff appearances.
  • The team is also searching for a new head coach after dismissing Robert Saleh in October and appointing Jeff Ulbrich as interim coach.
