JetBlue Unveils BlueFirst, Its New Domestic First‑Class Cabin

Bookings open this fall and service will begin late in 2026 under an aggressive retrofit plan to add first‑class seats and lift premium revenue.

Overview

  • JetBlue revealed full BlueFirst details on Sept. 1, including the seat model, in‑flight tech, menu concept, fare tiers, and a timetable for bookings and service.
  • The cabin uses Collins Aerospace two‑by‑two recliner seats with Tuft & Needle T&N Flex foam, 13.3‑inch Bluetooth seatback screens, USB‑A/USB‑C and 110V power, five inches of recline and up to seven inches more legroom.
  • Passengers will order from their screens using a new Mixologist Mode for custom cocktails and will receive a bento‑style FirstFare entrée, side and dessert on flights 899 miles or longer because retrofitted aircraft will not have ovens.
  • BlueFirst will be sold in three fare tiers (flex, standard, base) and include ground perks such as Group 1 boarding, priority check‑in, expedited security at 30+ airports, two checked bags on standard/flex fares, and reserved overhead bin space.
  • JetBlue plans a late‑2026 debut with most retrofits done by the end of 2027 and completion in 2028, a move that will shrink economy pitch on converted aircraft and reduce some EvenMore extra‑legroom rows as the airline pushes to grow premium revenue under its JetForward strategy.
