JetBlue and United Unveil ‘Blue Sky’ Partnership to Share Loyalty Perks

Under an interline deal starting this fall, MileagePlus and TrueBlue members can use points on both carriers’ flights

United Airlines and JetBlue have announced a partnership that will shake things up for flyers.

Overview

  • Blue Sky enables reciprocal earning and redemption of miles on most United and JetBlue flights across their respective loyalty programs.
  • Passengers will be able to book each other’s flights directly on both airlines’ websites and mobile apps under the agreement.
  • JetBlue will allocate up to seven daily round-trip slots at JFK to United beginning in 2027, restoring United’s presence there.
  • The carriers will exchange eight Newark Liberty International Airport flight timings to rebalance their schedules.
  • Subject to regulatory approval, key elements of the partnership are expected to launch as early as fall 2025.
