Jesse Eisenberg’s A24 Musical Comedy Expands Cast and Begins Production

The untitled film, starring Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti, features original music by Eisenberg and marks his continued collaboration with A24 and Fruit Tree.

Production on Jesse Eisenberg’s untitled musical comedy officially began in April 2025, with an expanded cast joining the project.
New cast members include Halle Bailey, Havana Rose Liu, and Bernadette Peters, alongside stars Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti.
The film follows Moore’s character, a shy woman who becomes deeply involved in a community theater musical production.
Eisenberg not only directs the film but also wrote its original music and lyrics, with a creative team featuring Steven Gizicki, Bill Sherman, and Andy Blankenbuehler.
This project continues Eisenberg’s partnership with A24, Topic Studios, and Fruit Tree, building on the success of his Oscar-nominated film 'A Real Pain.'
