Jess Smith, former head of revenue for Angel City Football Club, has been appointed as the president of the Golden State Warriors' new WNBA franchise.
Smith will oversee the business operations of the team, which is set to begin play in 2025.
The Warriors' WNBA team is the first expansion of the league since the Atlanta Dream in 2008.
Smith's first tasks include creating a brand for the new team, which has yet to identify its name.
The team will operate and practice out of Oakland Arena and play their games at Chase Center.
