After failing to answer the clue, Goins briefly walked off the stage before returning to receive a hug from a fellow contestant.
Goins jokingly explained his error by noting he was born in 1994, the same year the song topped the charts.
Despite the blunder, Goins secured second place in the tournament and is set to compete in the upcoming Tournament of Champions quarterfinals on February 3.
