Jens Stoltenberg to Lead Munich Security Conference

The former NATO Secretary General will succeed Christoph Heusgen as the conference chair in 2025.

Stoltenberg, who recently concluded his decade-long tenure as NATO Secretary General, is set to take over as the head of the Munich Security Conference (MSC).
Christoph Heusgen, the outgoing chair, led the MSC for three years, during which he increased female and younger expert participation and excluded the AfD party.
The transition was officially confirmed after weeks of speculation, with Stoltenberg expressing his commitment to the conference's mission of 'peace through dialogue.'
The MSC, founded in 1963, is a key international forum for discussing security policy, attracting global leaders and experts each February in Munich.
Stoltenberg's leadership marks the first time the conference will be led by a non-German, highlighting the MSC's growing international stature.
