Overview

  • Pawol will work Saturday’s doubleheader on the bases and serve as home-plate umpire Sunday in the Marlins-Braves series at Truist Park.
  • She will be the first woman to officiate a Major League Baseball regular-season game, ending more than a century of male-only umpiring.
  • After beginning her professional umpiring career in the Gulf Coast League in 2016, Pawol rose through Single-A, Double-A and Triple-A levels.
  • In 2024 and 2025 she was the first woman since 2007 to umpire MLB spring training games, setting the stage for her regular-season debut.
  • MLB’s 76 full-time umpires are backed by a pool of Triple-A call-ups, and Pawol is one of 17 selected this season to cover vacancies.
