  • Doja Cat returns for the first televised performance of her new single “Jealous Type” from her fifth studio album Vie.
  • Post Malone will perform at the VMAs for the first time since 2018 and is nominated for best collaboration with Blake Shelton for “Pour Me a Drink.”
  • Jelly Roll will perform while competing for his first Moon Person with four nominations, including best alternative, best country and best hip-hop.
  • Tate McRae and Conan Gray will make their first VMAs main-stage appearances, with McRae earning four first-time nods and Gray performing “Vodka Cranberry.”
  • LL COOL J hosts as Mariah Carey receives the Video Vanguard Award, Busta Rhymes is honored with the Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Ricky Martin accepts the inaugural Latin Icon Award.
