Overview
- Indiana State Police say Garrett Smelosky, 33, sped past emergency vehicles working a crash on I-265 around 9:30 p.m. on Nov. 12.
- Troopers stopped the vehicle near the 10th Street exit and reported signs of impairment during the traffic stop.
- A 1-month-old was in the back seat, was unharmed, and was released to a family member.
- Smelosky was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on three preliminary counts: neglect of a dependent; operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a passenger under 18, both Level 6 felonies; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor.
- Authorities have not specified whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the suspected impairment.
