Jeep Revives Cherokee for 2026 With Hybrid-Only Powertrain Starting at $36,995

Overview

  • Jeep confirms a new 1.6-liter turbo two-motor hybrid (210 hp, 230 lb-ft) with an eCVT as the sole launch powertrain, targeting 37 mpg combined and more than 500 miles of range.
  • Riding on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, the SUV grows in every dimension and gains roughly 30% more cargo space to 33.6 cu ft behind row two and 68 cu ft with seats folded.
  • Standard Active Drive I all-wheel drive adds rear-axle disconnect, 8 inches of ground clearance, 19.6°/29.4° approach/departure and 18.8° breakover angles, and up to 3,500-lb towing; a Trailhawk is promised later.
  • U.S. pricing opens at $36,995 plus $1,995 destination, with Limited ($42,495) and Overland ($45,995) due late 2025 and the base Cherokee and Laredo ($39,995) arriving in early 2026.
  • The vehicle will be assembled in Toluca, Mexico, with the hybrid engine built in Dundee, Michigan, and every trim includes Uconnect 5 with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch cluster, Level 2 Active Driving Assist and a 10-year Connect One subscription.
