JEE Main 2026: NTA Opens Session 1 Registration, Clarifies No Onscreen Calculator

The rollout emphasizes wider access across 323 cities, with clarified rules on exam tools.

Overview

  • Online applications for Session 1 are live at jeemain.nta.nic.in through November 27, 2025, with fee payment due the same day.
  • Session 1 will run January 21–30, 2026, with exam-city information expected in the first week of January and admit cards released a few days before each test date.
  • NTA says Session 2 will be held in April 2026, though outlets differ on exact dates; a separate registration window will open later.
  • NTA corrected its bulletin to state that calculators are not permitted in JEE Main 2026, after an earlier reference to an onscreen tool was identified as a typographic error.
  • The 2026 cycle adds test centers in 323 cities and integrates UDID for PwD applicants, retains the +4/−1 marking scheme for Paper 1, and requires standard document uploads including photo, signature and Class 10 proof.
