Overview
- Vice President J.D. Vance stopped by the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice facility after speaking at a Sharonville campaign rally on Oct. 21 and toured the locker room and greeted head coach Zac Taylor.
- Short videos that circulated online showed most players walking past Vance with little obvious acknowledgment, and a separate clip captured tight end Drew Sample briefly shaking his hand.
- Other footage showed some players, including Ja’Marr Chase, and staff interacting with Vance, so the overall reception varied across the visit.
- Quarterback Joe Burrow told reporters he did not meet Vance and said the vice president “came with everybody and left with swiftness and efficiency,” comments that were widely reported and replayed on social platforms.
- Local reporters noted heightened security for the stop and coverage has treated the episode mainly as an optics and media story rather than an organizational issue while the Bengals refocus on their upcoming game.
