• Optimo partner Jonnie Wilkes announced that McIvor died peacefully at 2:06 p.m. Friday at Glasgow’s Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
• McIvor disclosed an untreatable brain tumour in July and entered hospice care in early August following a rapid decline.
• He co-founded Optimo (Espacio) in 1997, led a celebrated Sunday residency at the Sub Club through 2010, and later toured internationally under the Optimo name.
• McIvor launched the Optimo Music label and logged more than 100 remixes, with credits including Franz Ferdinand, Róisín Murphy and Florence + the Machine.
• A fundraiser organized by his wife, Marissa, along with benefit events, raised about £147,411 for 24-hour care as peers such as Bicep, Daniel Avery and Alex Kapranos shared tributes.
