JBLM Inducts Wear Blue Founder and Civic Volunteer into Civilian Hall of Fame

I Corps leadership used the Russell Landing ceremony to honor grassroots military family advocacy through Wear Blue alongside philanthropic initiatives that deepened ties with the Puget Sound community.

Overview

  • On August 8 at Russell Landing, Lt. Gen. Matthew McFarlane formally inducted Lisa Hallett and Susan Patane into the I Corps and Joint Base Lewis-McChord Civilian Hall of Fame, presenting each with a medal, pin, certificate, trophy and commemorative blazer.
  • The honorees were selected through nominations and a vote by Army and Air Force command teams under the Civilian Hall of Fame Lieutenant General William H. Harrison Service Award criteria.
  • Hallett was recognized for establishing Wear Blue: Run to Remember, a movement engaging over 200,000 participants nationally and hosting weekly runs, remembrance ceremonies and youth mentorship at JBLM.
  • Patane was honored for contributing more than $100,000 in donations and in-kind support to base programs and for her decades of volunteer leadership in local and national military advocacy roles.
  • McFarlane highlighted their efforts as vital to bridging service members and the Puget Sound community, emphasizing the Hall of Fame’s role in formalizing civil-military partnership.
