Overview
- North Melbourne officially unveiled Jaymie Graham as its senior coach on a three-year deal after a week-long selection process, with the club announcing the appointment to members on Tuesday.
- Graham replaces Alastair Clarkson, who was sacked in early September with one year left on his contract after club leaders cited gaps in the team’s game plan.
- Nathan Buckley removed himself from the race late last week, leaving a final field of first-time senior‑coach candidates that saw Graham emerge as the preferred choice.
- Graham brings more than a decade of coaching experience including roles at St Kilda, West Coast and five seasons at Fremantle where he oversaw the forward line and helped that program reach this year’s Grand Final.
- The Roos have given Graham a clear mandate to deliver a simpler, modern game plan, prioritise player development and begin trade and draft work immediately while Fremantle prepares to reshuffle its coaching staff.
