Overview
- Lyca Productions and director Jason Sanjay announced the new October 2 theatrical date in an Instagram post shared on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
- Sigma is the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay and stars Sundeep Kishan, with Lyca Productions producing and music composed by Thaman S.
- The film was originally scheduled for July 31 but missed that date and the makers have not given a reason for the postponement.
- Promotions are already under way, including the June single 'Sigma Style' launched by Dulquer Salmaan and sung by Thaman S, Smile Tupakeys and Mc Rude.
- The delay comes as Jason Sanjay is launching his filmmaking career while his father, actor-turned-politician Vijay, serves as Tamil Nadu’s chief minister, a context that shapes media attention and the film’s release strategy.
