Japanese Woman Summoned for Alleged Unwanted Kiss of BTS Member Jin

South Korean police have launched an investigation into a fan accused of kissing Jin without consent during a 2024 fan event celebrating his military discharge.

The incident occurred during a June 2024 free hug event in Seoul, where Jin greeted 1,000 fans after completing his mandatory military service.
Video footage shows Jin appearing visibly uncomfortable after the woman, reportedly in her 50s, kissed him on the cheek without his consent.
The woman later wrote about the encounter in a blog post, describing physical contact with Jin, which sparked public outrage among BTS fans.
An online complaint prompted South Korean authorities to open a sexual harassment investigation and summon the woman for questioning.
The woman, identified with assistance from Japanese police, has refused to appear for questioning, and her identity remains undisclosed due to privacy laws.
