  • Japan tops the early medal table with five golds, while Georgia, Switzerland, Tajikistan and Brazil also secured championships in completed divisions.
  • Peru’s Driulys Rivas earned a marquee win over Cuba’s Dalí Sentmanat at -52 kg, and Zoyla Nevado defeated Chile’s Antonia Muñoz at -70 kg to headline the host nation’s best results so far.
  • The championships are being staged at Coliseo Eduardo Dibós by the Peruvian Judo Federation under María Martínez Murciego with broad international participation from more than 60 countries.
  • Organizers held a gala in Miraflores where Pan American Judo chief Carlos Zegarra presented the “President” award to IPD president Federico Tong Hurtado and COP president Renzo Manyari Velazco.
