Overview

• On June 11, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested four alleged criminals in connection with a June 6 Gangyal Chowk shooting that wounded two people, including recently released felon Paramjeet Singh.
• Video footage captured three of the suspects being beaten with belts and canes in full view of the public as they were led to Gangyal Police Station.
• Police identified the detainees as Surinder Singh, Harjot Singh alias "Anda", Raman Kumar and Mohd Ashraf.
• Investigators filed FIR 68/2025 under Sections 109, 111, 191(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 3/25 of the Arms Act.
• Senior officers Joginder Singh, Ajay Sharma and Sunil Singh Jasrotia led the operation and are continuing efforts to expose the suspects’ broader gang network.
