Overview

  • Jammu recorded 190.4 mm of rain in 24 hours, inundating neighborhoods and triggering landslides that closed Mughal and Sinthan roads while the JammuSrinagar highway stayed open.
  • A bridge over Sahar Khad on the JammuPathankot highway was damaged near Kathua, forcing diversions, and authorities closed schools across the Jammu division and postponed class 10 and 11 exams.
  • SDRF and police rescued about 45 students from the flooded IIIM hostel in Jammu as boundary walls collapsed and several vehicles were swept away.
