Jammu Fugitive Royal Manjeet Singh Arrested in Mumbai, Handed Over to J&K Police

Police cite fresh Jammu cases under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, plus earlier alleged links to murder and extortion.

  • Crime Branch units in Mumbai detained Royal Manjeet Singh, 37, after a tip‑off led to a raid near Bandra on September 23.
  • Officials said Units 8 and 9 with the Criminal Intelligence Cell intercepted him after intelligence that he would arrive at a Bandra West hotel.
  • Following interrogation and due procedure, Mumbai Police informed Bus Stand Police Station, Jammu, obtained transit remand, and transferred custody.
  • Jammu records show recent FIRs: an Arms Act case tied to an August 20 hotel scuffle registered on September 3, and a September 1 case from the General Bus Stand area under BNS sections 111, 351(3) and 333.
  • Police have also linked his name to older cases, including the killing of gangster Rajesh Dogra and a 2009 murder associated with a former legislator’s family.
