Jamie Chadwick Named Genesis Hypercar Reserve Driver for 2026

The Briton takes a development post after testing the GMR-001 at Magny-Cours.

Overview

  • Genesis confirmed Chadwick as its FIA WEC Hypercar reserve and development driver for 2026 following her first laps in the GMR-001 during a late-October test at Magny-Cours.
  • Her duties span on-track sessions and simulator work through late 2025 and across 2026, with a separate racing program to be announced.
  • Chadwick becomes the first woman appointed as a Hypercar reserve in WEC and is only the second woman to have driven a WEC Hypercar.
  • The GMR-001 is slated to debut at the 2026 Qatar 1812KM on March 26–28, with André Lotterer, Pipo Derani, Daniel Juncadella and Mathys Jaubert already named and two race seats still open.
  • Chadwick earned the role after a strong ELMS campaign with IDEC Sport, taking three LMP2 wins and finishing third overall as part of Genesis’s Trajectory Programme.
