Rowson Returns to Yankees Amid Team's Struggle with Offensive Performance

James Rowson, who has 22 years of professional coaching experience, has been named the New York Yankees' new hitting coach.
Rowson has previously worked with the Yankees as their minor league hitting coordinator for six seasons.
He has also served as the hitting coach for the Chicago Cubs and the Minnesota Twins, and as the bench coach for the Miami Marlins.
Last season, Rowson was the Detroit Tigers’ assistant hitting coach.
The appointment comes after the Yankees had one of the worst offenses in the majors last season, with the team's batting average ranking second to last.
