James Hoge, longtime newspaper editor, dies at 87

James Hoge was an editor at major newspapers in Chicago and New York.
He helped grow the Chicago Sun-Times into a Pulitzer Prize-winning paper in the 1970s and 80s.
As publisher of the New York Daily News in the 90s, he faced falling readership and labor unrest.
He later led Foreign Affairs magazine, making changes to broaden its readership.
Hoge died this week at the age of 87.
