Overview
- Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin delivered their final draft of The Batman Part II screenplay in June, earning praise from James Gunn, who said “It’s great.”
- The film will remain part of Reeves’s self-contained ‘Batman Epic Crime Saga’ and will not tie into the new DCU launching with Superman.
- Warner Bros. Pictures has moved into pre-production and plans to begin principal photography later this year.
- Robert Pattinson will reprise Bruce Wayne/Batman, joined by Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot and Andy Serkis as Commissioner Gordon.
- Following delays due to the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes and Reeves’s focus on script quality, the sequel is now set for an October 1, 2027 premiere.
