James Dyson, the billionaire inventor and Brexit supporter, has lost his libel lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), publisher of the Daily Mirror.
The lawsuit was over a column in the Daily Mirror that criticized Dyson for moving his company's global head office from Britain to Singapore after advocating for Brexit.
The High Court ruled that the column was an 'honest opinion' and that Dyson had not shown he had suffered 'serious harm' as a result.
Dyson had described the column as a 'vicious and vitriolic' personal attack that damaged his reputation and harmed his philanthropic work.
Despite the loss, a Dyson spokesperson defended the company's commitments to the U.K., including employing 3,700 people and paying more corporation tax after 2019 than before.
