Overview
- St Kilda lodged paperwork to formally sign Jake Stringer as a delisted free agent on Wednesday, completing his move from Greater Western Sydney.
- Stringer finished the season with 48 goals for GWS, played 38 games over two seasons there and marked his last match as his 250th career game.
- Greater Western Sydney removed Stringer from its list to address a forward contract logjam and to give opportunities to younger key forwards such as Aaron Cadman and Max Gruzewski.
- St Kilda football boss Lenny Hayes said the club expects Stringer to bring goal-kicking, flexibility and depth to the Saints' forward line, and the player has said he wanted to return to Victoria to be closer to family.
- The delisted free agency window also confirmed other moves including Wil Parker to Carlton, Elijah Tsatas, Samson Ryan and Darragh Joyce to North Melbourne, and Max Ramsden to St Kilda as clubs use the period to add experienced depth when draft picks are limited.
