Jaishankar Ends Moscow Visit as India and Russia Seal IRIGC-TEC Protocol

Both sides pledged faster work on trade facilitation, smoother payments, better connectivity, pursuit of an EAEU pact to reach $100 billion by 2030.

  • The 26th IRIGC‑TEC plenary ended with a signed protocol and a roadmap that targets the removal of tariff and non‑tariff barriers, improved logistics and payments, and finalisation of a Programme of Economic Cooperation through 2030.
  • Officials highlighted prospects for expanded cooperation in hydrocarbons and peaceful nuclear energy, alongside plans to facilitate the mobility of Indian skilled professionals.
  • New Delhi and Moscow reaffirmed coordination across the UN, BRICS, SCO and G20 and called for UN Security Council reform to better reflect current realities.
  • Talks covered regional security including developments related to Ukraine, a joint resolve to combat terrorism, expedited consular issues such as Indians serving in the Russian Army, and steps to open new Indian consulates in Kazan and Yekaterinburg.
