- On June 25, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya confirmed Jaipur will host the fifth edition of KIUG this November.
- Poornima University and Rajasthan University have been appointed co-hosts of the under-25 multi-sport event.
- The Games will succeed the under-18 Khelo India Youth Games held in Bihar and offer a national showcase for university athletes eyed by national team scouts.
- At least 20 sports disciplines will feature in the programme, consistent with previous KIUG editions.
- The 2024 edition in north-east India saw about 4,500 participants, 770 medals awarded and Chandigarh University claim the team title.
