Jai Opetaia to Defend Cruiserweight Titles Against David Nyika on Gold Coast

Jai Opetaia, widely regarded as the best cruiserweight in the world, will defend his IBF and The Ring titles against David Nyika, who stepped in as a late replacement for Hüseyin Cinkara.
Nyika, a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist and Olympic bronze medalist, brings a 10-0 record with nine knockouts into the fight, despite having only three weeks to prepare.
The event, held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, features a stacked undercard including heavyweight prospect Justis Huni and Olympic standout Teremoana Teremoana.
Promoter Eddie Hearn has hinted at potential future matchups for Opetaia, including a path to becoming the undisputed cruiserweight champion and a possible fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
The fight will air on DAZN Boxing as a pay-per-view event, with the main card starting at 6pm AEDT and the main event expected no earlier than 9pm AEDT.
